a partridge in a pear tree

two turtle doves

three french hens

four calling birds

five golden rings

six geese a-laying

seven swans a-swimming
eight maids a-milking

nine ladies dancing

You know Christmas is over when...

...you can save BIG on next year's Christmas decorations.
...Christmas inflatables are sadly deflated.
...the fridge is FULL of leftovers.
...Christmas trees are no longer green.
...Santa finally takes a day off.
...Valentines' Day sales advertisements start popping up.

Christmas Light Show

There are lots of examples of this throughout YouTube.  But I like this version of this song.  Enjoy the light show!

Music: (May There Be) Peace on Earth This Christmas

We sang this song at midnight mass Saturday night.  It's pretty much a standard at our midnight mass.  We don't sing it with the jazzy flair of this recording.  Ours is much simpler.  But the words are absolutely gorgeous and epitomize the blessings I have for everyone at Christmastime...and throughout the year.  Enjoy!

May there be peace on earth this Christmas
And may the bells of joy ring loud and clear.
May your dreams of love for each other
Come true and live from year to year.

May there be peace on earth this Christmas.
And when the evening shadows fall,
Let us ask God when we pray for a lasting peace that day
When the world would get the greatest Gift of all.

Animal Christmas

Not a creature was stirring?

This one's for me, right?

I want four calling birds, three French hens, two turtle doves, and a partridge...hold the pear tree.

I'm hiding from Santa.

Are you freakin' kidding me?!

Problem...no room in the stable either.

I'm just helping keep baby Jesus warm.

I want to put the star on the top this year!

oooo, shiny!  I have to have it!

Somebody had too much eggnog.

This IS my happy Christmas face.

Joy

Have I ever mentioned that JOY is my all-time, most favorite world in all the world?!  Well, now you know!  And outside of falling in love or welcoming a new baby into the world, when do we feel more joy than at Christmastime?
